Automotive Progress: 7 World’s Fastest Electric Cars

    Mondial de l'Automobile 2012, Paris - France

A car is an integral part of our life. With the help of these 4-wheeled assistants,
we go to work every day, while travelers are used to rent a car at Rentalcars24h
for their leisure needs. As for the development of the automotive industry, just 10
years ago electric cars were considered to be an idealistic, but unstable and
unrealistic alternative to cars with an internal combustion engine that runs on
gasoline or diesel. But these times are long gone. In addition to the enormous
environmental benefits, all electric cars actually require less time to reach
    maximum speed.

If gasoline or diesel engine requires a large number of revolutions of the power
unit to achieve maximum power and speed, then for electric vehicles, maximum
torque and power are available instantly. In addition, electric cars eliminate the
need to use complex gearboxes, which are necessary for ordinary cars with
internal combustion engines. So, we have collected the fastest electric cars in the
    world available today…

    Vanda Electrics Dendrobium

    Maximum speed: 320 km/h

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 2.7 seconds
Vanda Dendrobium electric car hasn’t only a unique exterior. The Singapore-made
supercar was introduced by the British Formula One Williams team, which is also
known as the Williams Grand Prix Engineering. This hypercar can accelerate from
0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, but this is not the main feature of the car.

Vanda Electrics Dendrobium can reach the speed of 320 km/h, which is a unique
achievement for electric cars, because at this speed, due to the high air resistance
of the car, the battery that feeds the electric motor quickly discharges.
Dendrobium is one of super rare cars, thus it’s produced in a limited series and
    costs several million dollars.

    Faraday Future FF91

    Maximum speed: 300 km/h

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 2.4 seconds

Faraday Future FF91 crossover is the first car of the American company Faraday
Future. Contrary to popular opinion, the first models of the new car manufacturer
are usually not fully thought out, the first car of the American auto brand turned
    out to be quite good.

The creators of the car claim that the ultra-luxury electric car Faraday Future FF91
will become the flagship of the company. At the moment, the car is not yet
commercially available. But already in 2019, the company plans to finally start the
conveyor. It’s expected that the first serial model of the electric vehicle will have a
cruising range of 482 km without recharging.

    Tesla Roadster

    Maximum speed: 400 km/h

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 1.9 seconds

Despite the fact that Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims that the Tesla Roadster is not
fast enough, it’s no longer a secret that the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in
1.9 seconds. The mark of 160 km/h is achieved in 4.2 seconds. Also, the car can
accelerate to the maximum speed of 400 km/h.

The roadster will be released in 2020 in a limited edition of 250 cars, but today all
the cars sold out. By the way, Tesla Roadster is even faster than the legendary
Porsche 918 Spyder. It was discovered when an American sports electro-roadster
    drove a 1/4 mile-long race in just 8.9 seconds.

    BMW i8

Maximum speed: 250 km/h (electronically limited)

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 4.4 seconds

Not many automakers that appeared many years ago were able to survive in a
highly competitive world. But those companies that continue their work to this
day, in most cases, cannot boast of some innovative cars. Fortunately, this
    statement doesn’t apply to BMW.

Today, the German brand is well-known for its i8 hypercar. It’s able to accelerate
from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, despite the fact that this model is a conventional
hybrid of 1.5l 3-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor.

As a result, the total power of the hybrid power unit is 362 hps. By the way, this
hypercar has an option for driving on electric motor only. Of course, compared to other cars in our rating, the acceleration rate is not impressive. However, this is incredibly fast for a hybrid sports car.

    Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6

Maximum speed: 250 km/h (electronically limited)

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 3.9 seconds

This electric car is incredibly rare and expensive. The fact is that Vision 6 vehicle
was presented by Mercedes in 2016 in the form of a concept car. However, it’s
quite possible that in the future the Germans will release a serial version based on

This car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds. The power of the
electric car is 750 hps – it’s achieved by four synchronous motors mounted on

    Renault Trezor

Maximum speed: 250 km/h (electronically limited)

The French electric car features the power of 350 hps along with the maximum
torque of 380 Nm. The top speed of the car is 250 km/h – apparently, it’s
electronically limited. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes less than 4 seconds.

    Rimac Concept One

    Maximum speed: 305 km/h

    Acceleration from 0-100 km/h: 2.5 seconds

According to Rimac engineers, during the test their car reached the speed of 305
km/h, thereby breaking the Porsche Spyder 918 speed record in the race by 1/4
mile. So, this quarter-mile ride of the Rimac Concept One took just 9.9 seconds.

Rimac Concept One sports car was created in Croatia. The car’s power is 1088
hps, and the maximum torque is 1600 Nm. If talking about speed, then Rimac is
one of the most impressive electric cars on the planet.
